What is a hair transplant?

During a hair transplant, hair is moved from the donor area (on the back of the head) to the bald or thin-haired area on the forehead, temples, top of the head or any other desired area. So you don't get back locks of hair, but some of the hair from the donor area is redistributed and transplanted to the desired area.

What hair transplant methods are there?

There are currently two widely accepted hair transplant methods available: the Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT) method and the Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) method.

FUE hair transplant

In the FUE method, hair follicles (grafts) are harvested one at a time from the donor area (usually on the back and sides of the head). These grafts are then replaced one by one on the bald or thin-haired area. This method is virtually painless, leaves no visible scars and has a quick recovery time.
